SVA Optoelectronics, which has a joint venture with NEC as SVA-NEC, is the LCD subsidiary of SVA Group. SVA Opto and Nippon Electric Glass (NEG) with Sumitomo will invest US$45.5 million to build a LCD glass plant. Profit margins for glass is quite good. Corning is doing well with quite a bit more than 50% of the market. It is good to see the Chinese and the Japanese working together. I wonder what Corning thinks about this move.
