On August 21, 2007, Sharp Corporation will introduce 16 new G-Series AQUOS models. 12 of 16 will be 1080p and all with have a depth of just 8.1cm (less than 3.2″) and be lighter. The new G-Series 52″ model can be installed in the same width as the company’s previous 42″ model. This allows easy upgrade to larger sized TVs while keeping the same mounting area or cabinet: a great idea that will attract both male and female shoppers wanting to move to larger sizes! Sharp’s Kameyama Double-Speed Advanced Super View (ASV) LCD Panel will be used that doubles the frequency to 120Hz, reducing motion blur by a significant amount.

Contrast ratio is a respectful (and more realistic!) 900:1 in a typical living room setting and 2000:1 to a dark room. AQUOS Familink, an advanced interface that enables the user to control the AQUOS Blu-ray Disc Player, AQUOS HD Recorder, and AQUOS Audio System connected to the AQUOS TV, is featured on the G-Series.
