Sharp’s PN series LCD monitors are commercial grade and are geared toward digital signage applications. The PN series LCD monitors are built to be operated in external environments and for extended 24/7 operations. Sharp calls these displays Information Display Panels and have a built-in temperature sensor, a fan-less architecture, a black metal cabinet, a DVI-D loop through for daisy chain connections, and heavy duty carrying handles.
The four-wavelength (blue, green, red and crimson red) spectrum backlight is an interesting feature. Most backlights are of the three-wavelength spectrum variety that match up to the RGB color filter. With a four-wavelength spectrum backlight, the red color becomes deep red. An enhancement of red reproduction also improves natural skin color according to Sharp.
For those that desire to install multiple large LCDs in your home that can last a long time and can be easily controlled, these PN series professional displays might be just the ticket, an expensive one though.
