Note: As far as I can tell the XBR 7 and the XBR 8 external design is similar if not identical.
Sony‘s KDL-70XBR7 is the largest LCD TV you can buy from Sony. The KDL-70XBR7 has everything the XBR 8 series has except for the TRILUMINOS RGB LED backlight, which is a big deal since that provides an enhanced color gamut as well as local dimming capabilities (Advanced Contrast Enhancer – ACE) to improve contrast ratio to insane levels.
The KDL-70XBR7 incorporates the most advanced video processing engine: BRAVIA Engine 2 PRO, just like the XBR 8 series. This differentiates it from the smaller 40″ KDL-XBR7 that uses the BRAVIA Engine 2 EX. For for these later in the fall.
