Sony‘s KDL-32XBR6 is the smallest in the XBR 6 series with a 1080p-capable 32″ TFT LCD. The others include the KDL-40XBR6, KDL-46XBR6 and KDL-52XBR6. The XBR 6 series differs from the XBR 7 and XBR 8 series in that the video processing is done by the regular 10-bit BRAVIA Engine instead of the more advanced BRAVIA Engine EX or the BRAVIA Engine PRO. The external design is different too with the sound bar located on the bottom instead of floating on the sides.
The pixel format of 1920 x 1080 follows the trend toward 1080p capable 32″ LCD TVs. The HDMI input can take 1080/24p directly from video sources like a 1080/24p camcorder. The 120Hz Motionflow will reduce the motion blur problem while ACE improves contrast ratio by modulating the WCG-CCFL backlight. All in all the KDL-32XBR6 should be one of the best 32″ LCD TVs out there. Of course, there are other features that have been left out: BRAVIA EX or PRO and RGB LED backlight that allows local dimming to significatnly improve the contrast ratio.
