If you’re in the market for a Sony LCD TV, but don’t want to pay the premium price, the company’s KDL-32L4000 might be just what you’re looking for. The KDL-32L4000 does not have all of the latest features, but it doesn’t break your bank either. The KDL-32L4000 is a 32″ LCD TV and sports a pixel format of 1366 x 768. The limited pixel format, compared to 1920 x 1080, does not make much of a difference and actually looks better when you are watching regular DVDs and standard definition TV programs. Even cable channels that provide 720p content look better on 1366 x 768 than on a LCD TV with Full HD. Of course, keep in mind you’ll get some motion blur since motion blur killing technologies such as 120Hz and motion interpolation is absent.
The KDL-32L4000 has all of the required inputs to get you connected with your video sources. I’m still playing GT4 on my PlayStation 2 and getting my arms sore on the Nintendo Wii and something like this 32″ LCD TV would be a great fit; no need for a 1080p LCD TV. The bottom line is if you don’t have 1080p video sources to hook up your TV to, but still want a Sony, the KDL-32L4000 will make it easy on the eyes and the wallet. It’s Energy Star compliant too.
