According to Sony, its BRAVIA JE1 Series KDL-32JE1 has the highest level of energy efficiency for a 32″ LCD TV. The light emission efficiency in the backlight unit (BLU) was enhanced in addition to the light transmission of the optical films. In the BLU high emission efficiency fluorescent tubes were used to maintain the same brightness with fewer tubes. Voltage requirements were reduced for light emission as well. The result of these enhancements resulted in 232% of Japanese energy conservation standards, annual power consumption of just 86kWh and operational power consumption of just 89W.
To receive Japan’s highest rating for energy efficiency, the five-star Energy Saving Label, for an electronics product, the KDL-32JE1 far exceeded the 164% energy efficiency rate, posting a rate of 232%. In addition to its excellent energy efficiency the KDL-32JE1 is a capable 32″ LCD TV with a 1366 x 768 pixel format, 2500:1 contrast ratio, and 178/178 viewing angles.
