Crave: Samsung is leveraging its strong brand and bringing its notebook PCs to the US. I have wondered why this has not happened sooner. Regardless, I believe Samsung will do quite well with its notebook PCs. Let’s look at the Q310 model, particularly the higher-end Q310-34P. The Q310-34P sports a 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo P8400 CPU, a 320GB HDD, 3GB of DDR2 RAM, integrated Intel GMA 4500MHD GPU, a DVD burner, a webcam, WiFi (802.11n) and most importantly a 13.3″ wide TFT LCD with a pixel format of 1280×800. I am not sure if this LCD has a LED backlight or not. Does anyone know?
This one sports the Touch of Color design them with a splash of red. However there are other designs that are currently being sold in South Korea. For instance, the NT-Q310-BA20W is all white, while the NT-Q310-BA20P is pink. The Q310-34P is equivalent to the NT-Q310-AS220 that is being sold in Korea with the main difference being the GPU. The Korean version has the more powerful NVIDIA GeForce Go 9200M GS with 256MB of GDDR3 memory while the US version has just an integrated Intel GMA 4500MHD. The Q310-34P can be had for just $1249.99 at Newegg.
