Eizo FlexScan S2432W-H: 24

Eizo‘s FlexSan S2432W-H is a 24″ LCD monitor geared for those who need superior performance and a big budget. The enhanced performance comes from a wide color gamut CCFL (WCG-CCFL) backlight that provides a color gamut of 96% NTSC. The viewing angles are great at 178/178 and though the black-white-black response time is slow at 16ms the S2432W-H using overdrive circuitry improves the gray-to-gray response time to just 2ms, good for watching video content and playing games! Contrast ratio is a very good 1000:1 while brightness is quite bright at 360 cd/m2.

Although fairly expensive for a 24″ LCD monitor even with these impressive specs the S2432W-H comes in at a hefty price of about US$938. But the S2432W-H will save you a bit in terms of energy consumption: it has an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts the brightness of the monitor.

The Eizo 24″ incorporates a DisplayPort connector. I am not sure what the value of a DisplayPort connector is for about 99.99% of the population but it seems that we’ll be forced to invest in new cables in the near future especially if LCD monitor companies begin to ship just the LCD monitor and without the necessary cables. The S2432W-H is a case in point: it comes with DVI and VGA cables but no DisplayPort cable.
