Panasonic TH-M50HD18: 50

Panasonic‘s TH-M50HD18 is a 720p-class 50″ PDP (plasma display panel) TV. The TH-M50HD18 features a pixel format of 1366 x 768 and a contrast ratio of up to 15,000:1. The PDP has a new anti-reflective filter to reduce reflections and improve contrast ratio when in brighter ambient environments. There are plenty of connectivity options but an additional HDMI input for a total of 3 would have a been better. The 50″ Panasonic has a built-in ATSC tuner so you are future safe. Panasonic has developed what it calls VIERA Link that allows you to connect and control compatible Panasonic DVD players/recorders, Blu-ray players, home theater sound systems and HD camcorders. The TH-M50HD18 is not a 1080p plasma TV but don’t fret: there has been studies that show that the human visual system is hard pressed to decipher the difference between 720p an 1080p content at recommended viewing distances. And best of all, you can grab the TH-M50HD18 for just $998 at Wal-Mart!
