Kodak‘s Zi6 Pocket Video Camera sports a 2.4″ LCD and captures video in 1280 x 720 pixel format at 60fps or 30fps in MOV format encoded in H.264. The LCD itself is protected by a plastic panel and that has a bit of glare. Kodak was very nice to allow me to use the Zi6 during CES 2009. It might have been because of the lighting at the Las Vegas Convention Center but the videos didn’t come out as well as I thought it would: it looks good but not 720p at 60fps good. But it might have been due to user error. Video of the Zi6 after the jump.
It has a built-in USB connector so you just flip it out, plug it in and start copying the videos you took into your PC. The Zi6 was very convenient and I want to thank Kodak for helping me get through CES 2009–the Zi6 weighs just 3.8oz, much lighter than a dedicated video camcorder. The following video was taken in 640 x 480 at 30fps with a Canon Digital IXUS 70 (not the Zi6)–and subsequently processed by YouTube reducing the quality of the video by just a tad bit.
