BenQ‘s E2200HD is a 22″ LCD monitor sporting a 16:9 TN TFT LCD panel with a 1920 x 1080 pixel format. Brightness is fairly standard at 300 cd/m2 while contrast ratio is on the high side at 1000:1. The 2ms GTG response time is quite fast but you’ll be slightly limited in viewing angles: 170/160. More about that in the next paragraph. Connectivity is quite good with HDMI, VGA and DVI. Compared to the M2200HD, the E2200HD is black, lacks both the webcam and USB hub and cheaper.

Trusted Reviews did a thorough once over and liked the quality of the display. There were some limitations: “… while the E2200HD can display the extremes of light and dark shades, it can’t do so simultaneously.” That might be a problem if you have a picture like the one above. The backlight is uniform: “… not a hint of backlight bleed.” The viewing angles are decent: “… better performance… than most TN-based displays and horizontal viewing angles are remarkably good.” Bottom line? Trusted Reviews gave the E2200HD 8/10 overall and liked the better-than-average image quality including the viewing angles and an excellent price.
