Computer Shopper did a thorough review of ASUS‘ W90 and they really liked the “outstanding performance, overclocking capabilities” and the “stunning 18.4″ display… powerful audio output.” They did not like the reflective LCD and the “heavy, huge power brick”. I’ll focus on the display and graphics capabilities of the W90. The 18.4″ TFT LCD sports a pixel format of 1920 x 1080 featuring “incredible color quality and wide viewing angles” but did not like the high-gloss and reflectivity.

Make note that this beast sports dual ATI Radeon HD4870 GPUs in CrossFire configuration. FutureMark’s PCMark Vantage 64-bit productivity test resulted in a score of 4665 besting the best of the best including Gateway’s P7808u and Alienware’s M17. The W90 received a 3DMark06 score of 12,903 at the highest 1920 x 1080 setting. The remarkable feature, if you can call it that, is that both the CPU and the GPUs are overclockable! Overclocked the W90 was even faster.
