There are benefits to a huge LCD monitor with tons of pixels: 3840 x 2160. There are at least two benefits. First, you “do not have to be concerned about variations in the display properties of multiple monitors” and second you “are not bothered by frames between the monitors.” At least that’s according to Eizo.
The first point is very true. You’ll need to calibrate each of the monitors exactly the same if you’ll be doing some serious work involving colors–like surgery for instance. Second one is true as well. I have two 24″ LCD monitors and putting a ruler up to my monitor reveals that each bezel is 1.25″ thick. Put two together and that’s a 2.5″ thick bezel that separates one display from the other. I’d prefer 0″ like the one on the LS560W.
Of course as with anything medical-related this 56″ behemoth will have an extremely high price.
