Toshiba‘s 40RV525U is a 40″ LCD TV with 1080p capability meaning that it has a pixel format of 1920 x 1080. Back in early December when every larger TV retailer had stockpiles of flat panel TVs the price was going for just $679.99. Four months later the price has gone up to $699.99 but it is one of the best deals on a 42″ 1080p LCD TV from a major brand. I personally own a Toshiba and these TVs with a matte screen is just great when you’re watching TV during the day (or night with lights on) because there is very little glare and reflection.
The 40RV525U sports three HDMI ports and a VGA connection for when you want to connect a PC. The 40″ Toshiba does not sport 120Hz so if you’re glued to Sportscenter then you’ll want to look out for 120Hz in the TV that you buy. 120Hz doesn’t completely get rid of motion blur but it helps quite a bit.
You can get the 40RV525U with a MSRP of $1099.99 for just $699.99 at Newegg.
