Newegg has the X233Hbid for just $179.99 after a $20 discount. Here’s the promo code: EMCLRMT52. Shipping is free too. $179.99 for a 23″ LCD monitor is an excellent bargain!
The X233Hbid is a 23″ LCD monitor that is shaped more like a TV thanks to the 16:9 aspect ratio. It also sports a 1920 x 1080 pixel format so you can view your 1080p HD content. But here’s the kicker: the HD content will probably not work since the DVI and HDMI ports do not support HDCP. You know what that means, right?
The ultra-cheap 23″ LCD monitor from Acer has the standard features: brightness at 300 cd/m2 is standard, the 5ms response time is competent but I like to see <5ms on TN-based monitors, and I like that the X233Hbid has all three major connections: VGA, DVI, HDMI. If you need height adjustment, you’ll need to look elsewhere since this only has tilt.
