There’s some good news coming out of DisplaySearch. The Austin-based market research company just announced that LCD manufacturers shipped $4.3 million worth of TFT LCD panels in March, an increase of 31% M/M compared to February. However, compared to March of last year revenues are still down 45%.
LCD TV Panels LCD suppliers shipped 9.9 million LCD TV panels in March, up 30% M/M and 14% Y/Y. That’s considerably more than the 7.7 million that were shipped in February.
LCD Monitor Panels 15.4M LCD monitor panels were shipped in March, an increase of 24% M/M but still down 17% from a year ago.
Notebook PC LCD Panels LCD suppliers shipped 11.6M notebook PC LCD panels in March, up 38% M/M and flat from a year ago.
LCD Suppliers Samsung earned the most revenue selling LCD panels in March with $1.2 billion, up 36% M/M but down 32% Y/Y. Right behind was LG Display with $939 million, an increase of 19% M/M but down 32% Y/Y. Far behind these two were AUO and CMO with $648 million and $578 million respectively.
