Florent Porta (his website in French) is a freelance video editor and web designer. He uploaded a couple of 1080/24p videos taken with his new Canon EOS 7D. According to Daimaou at Akihabara News, Porta is the “genius behind all video we made for both NihonCar.com and ManualGear.com.”
For the first video, Porta used his 7D with a few lenses:Â Nikon 50mm f/1.8, 70-200 f/4, 12-24 f/4. Using a MacBook Pro, he converted the raw file using Apple ProRes 422 (LT), edited in Final Cut Pro (FCP), graded in Adobe After Effects (AE), reimported into FCP and then added titles. The AE render was done on his quad-core hackintosh that took just 6-8 minutes.
The first video is simply titled “Canon 7D test in Lyon”. The video quality, as expected, is excellent.
One more video titled “Le Sandwich” after the jump. The second video is titled “Le Sandwich” using a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 lens and shot in 1080/24p at ISO 250. Nicely done and it shows the excellent capability of the 7D (and the Nikon 50mm f/1.8 lens) in low-light situations. Now I think I need to make myself a sandwich. A simple one with butter and a slice of ham. And then start saving for a 7D…
