Innolux Display to Take Over TPO Display

Acquisition According to the Chinese-language Commercial Times and reported by DigiTimes, Innolux Display, a LCD panel manufacturer and LCD monitor integrator, is close to finalizing a deal to take over TPO Display. The deal with involve a stock-sawp with one Innolux share exchanged for 6 1/2 – 8 1/2 TPO shares. The acquisition of TPO will allow Innolux to enter the mobile display market that has shown rapid growth in the area of smartphones.

TPO Display, headquartered in Chunan, Taiwan, is a subsidiary of Compal Electronics and is a partnership between Toppoly Optoelectronics and Philips Mobile Display Systems (MDS) and established in June 2006 focused on small/medium sized displays for mobile applications. Philips MDS is the first and largest mobile display manufacturer in China.
