Notebooks Over Netbooks

IDC’s survey results show the average household in the Asia Pacific region (excluding Japan) owns two PCs and bought a netbook as an additional PC in 2009. A total of 2,263 new PC customers were polled in the following regions: Australia, India, South Korea, Malaysia, China, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. A significant finding is the limited cannibalization effect from netbooks: 60% of those polled still plans to purchase a regular notebook for their next PC. I’m not surprised as netbooks have generally been underpowered and for many physically inconvenient to type on. Source: DIGITIMES
