Google Joins Camera Phone Image Quality Initiative

I guess Google is serious about making sure that Android-based smartphones with cameras are labeled properly as taking good pictures. Google has joined the International Imaging Industry Association (I3A) and announced that it will be working with co-member Microsoft on the Camera Phone Image Quality Initiative. The Initiative includes Motorola, Eastman Kodak, Nokia and others focused on creating a testing program for camera phone image quality. Should I expect a I3A tag on mobile phones with cameras that tell me how good it is? Excellent, Average, Poor? Whatever levels they decide I don’t think it would be possible to accurately assess the quality of a camera. But best of luck to them. Source: I3A via Engadget
