Wistron to Build Vizio 3D TV

Vizio has tapped Wistron to build its 3D TVs expected to launch in 2010. Wistron licensed the rights to use Dynamic Digital Depth’s (DDD) TriDef 3D technology for notebook PCs and LCD TVs. Wistron holds 15% equity stake in DDD. Other brands expected to introduce 3D TVs are: Panasonic, Toshiba, Sony. 3D TV shipments are expected to reach 50 million in 2012 with LCD technology grabbing 80% share with 40 million and 10 million being plasma. 3D-capable TVs are forecasted to capture 20% of a 200-million LCD TV year in 2012.
