Philips Research has developed a color epaper technology where the color can be easily changed. Applications are almost limitless: e-wallpaper, e-window just to name a couple. No backlight is needed for Philips’ reflective epaper, which can be transparent, any color, or completely black. Another recent development called e-skin that makes use of ambient light, may allow for implementation into almost all electronic portable devices making color changes as easy as moving your hand.
